The Autumn Fire⢠EncoreĀ® Azalea, Azalea x āRoblegā PP#28279, is a slow growing dwarf broadleaf evergreen that will delight the gardener with two and a half inch red blooms from spring through fall. In fall the leaves become purple, adding even more interest to the landscape.
Autumn Fire⢠Encore® Azalea Care
Plant high to promote good drainage. Azaleas perform best in acidic soil, which can be amended with chelated iron if necessary. Soil should not be allowed to become dry until established. Prune only to shape after the first bloom period in spring. Fertilize in late winter or early spring to give the upcoming blooms a boost. These do the best in the morning sun if possible, but not necessary for healthy plants.
Autumn Fire⢠Encore® Azalea Spacing
Plant 4.5 to 5 feet apart, center to center when used as a foundation planting or in the shrub border. If establishing a compact hedge, plant 3 feet apart, center to center.
