Big Daddy Hosta Care 

Hostas prefer an evenly moist, but well drained soil. The soil can be well mulched with organic material to help hold moisture in a drier climate. A neutral to acidic pH is preferred. A slow release, well balanced fertilizer applied as the leaves emerge in the spring is the only feeding this low maintenance perennial needs.

Dividing Hostas every 3-4 years helps the plants remain vigorous growers. The best time to divide depends on the hardiness zone it is growing. Lower zones are better for spring division as the shoots emerge. The higher zones will have more success dividing and replanting in the fall.

Big Daddy Hosta has a height of 34-36 inches and a width of 42-48 inches. When planted in multiples, a spacing of 4-5 feet on center is recommended to allow for proper air circulation.
