The Jubilation Gardenia, Gardenia jasminoides ‘Leone’, is a compact, moderate to fast growing evergreen shrub with fragrant white blooms from late spring to fall. The flowers are excellent for cutting. Jubilation works well in containers, as a specimen, as an informal hedge or in the shrub border.
Gardenia ‘Jubilation’ Care
Plant in well-drained soil. Water weekly and more often during periods of drought and heat. Pruning not generally necessary but can be done after initial flush of blooms in the spring. Fertilize in early spring with an acid fertilizer.
Gardenia ‘Jubilation’ Spacing
For an informal hedge, plant Jubilation 3’ apart as measured from the center of each plant. For mass planting or in the shrub border, plant 5’-6’ apart.
