The Let’s Dance® Big Easy® Hydrangea is a great new plant from Proven Winners ColorChoice®. This shrub has extra large mophead flowers emerge green, then turn to pink with white, then sometimes green again. Add aluminum sulfate to the soil to change the flowers blue and purple hues. The colors stay bright and vivid year round.
These shrubs are great for mass plantings, and cut flowers. If you do choose to plant these flowers in a container, we recommend transplanting the shrub to the ground in the fall. These show stopping shrubs are grown for the large flowers on strong upright stems and make great landscaping bushes.
Let’s Dance Big Easy Hydrangea Care
The Big Easy hydrangea grows best in moist but well-drained soil. These grow the best in a location with morning sun and afternoon shade to protect against hot summer days. These can require extra watering during the hot and dry summer days in southern states.
Pruning Big Easy hydrangeas should be done lightly after the early bloom. But is generally not needed on this shrub unless you need to control the size or remove sick and dead branches.
Use slow release fertilizer designed for trees and bushes.
Let’s Dance Big Easy Hydrangea Spacing
Plant these small bushes 3 to 4 feet wide, center on center. For a hedge, you can plant 24 to 36 inches apart for a smaller garden border.
