It packs into a tiny version all the pluses of butterfly bushes – like fragrance, drought tolerance, easy care, long bloom – and butterflies, or course. The dwarf butterfly bush grows to only 2 feet high and wide, so you can tuck it into nearly any garden bed or container. Each summer, you and the bees, butterflies and hummingbirds will enjoy a mound of orchid-pink flower spikes.

Lo & Behold ‘Pink Micro Chip’ Butterfly Bush is not invasive, which is important in a few areas of the country that have banned older varieties of Buddleia. You don’t have to worry with this hybrid. Deer leave butterfly bushes alone, and they are easy shrubs to maintain. The butterfly bush is hardy to the cold of zone 5 and to the heat of zone 9. Few small shrubs have this many great qualities.

Plant Lo & Behold ‘Pink Micro Chip’ Butterfly Bush in full sun (at least 8 hours a day) for best results. Place it in nearly any soil that drains well with the base of the plant slightly above the soil to help water drain away from the plant in heavier rain. Once the plant is established and growing, it needs less water than most shrubs, but you can water a little more in periods of high summer heat. Prune the plant by cutting just above where new leaves appear in spring. You don’t have to deadhead buddleias.
