Low Rider Holly (Ilex crenata) is a small shrub that grows in a tight, round shape. It reaches no larger than 3 to 4 feet wide and high, so this little holly is ideal for featuring in containers, borders or hedges. It’s an evergreen shrub, so it’s also a good choice for those gardeners who love to prune and shape plants into topiary. Of course, you don’t have to get that creative, and the compact bush can thrive with little attention in zones 6 through 9.
