This large flowered beauty has 8” flowers that are light mauve with a dark rose stripe in the center. Best grown on a trellis or against a wall, this climbing vine is a beautiful addition to your yard. Nelly Moser is a hardy perennial in zones 4-8 that blooms in both June and again in September.

A deciduous vine, this clematis can be used as a cut flower, or use the foliage in your cut flower arrangements. A great vertical addition to your pollinator garden, Nelly Moser is great for bees, attracts butterflies and hummingbirds. Another benefit of this clematis is that deer and rabbits seem to leave it alone.

Nelly Moser Clematis is adaptable and will tolerate full sun to full shade conditions. The flowers will fade faster in full sun areas. Amend the soil when planting with a compost or humus for best results. This clematis prefers moist soil, allowing it to dry slightly in between waterings.

A member of Pruning Group 2, this clematis blooms on the previous season’s growth. Pruning can be done if needed in early spring (February-March), removing dead wood or weak stems. It can also be pruned for shape at this time.

Nelly Moser reaches a height of 6-10 feet tall and has a spread of 1-2 feet. For best results space plants at least 18-24 inches apart when planting in beds.
