If you’re looking for a large foliage plant to fill a shady or partially shady location in your yard or garden, Shadowland Wu-La-La Hosta is a fantastic choice. This plant’s attractive large blue-green leaves have an equally pretty apple-green border. Hostas are primarily grown for their foliage but have attractive light purple bell-shaped flowers on 4-foot stems that tower above the foliage in midsummer. This perennial plant will die back to the ground in late fall after its leaves turn golden yellow. The large leaves are great for hiding the dying foliage of spring-flowering bulbs.

This extra-large hosta will grow up to 5 or 6 feet wide and 3 to 4 feet tall in a mounding form in USDA hardiness zones 3 to 9. Shadowland Wu-La-La Hosta takes about 5 years to reach maturity. Hostas can be dug up and divided to create more plants.

Hostas grow well in city environments and can handle the harsh conditions caused by car exhaust on busy streets in shade to partial shade conditions. Shadowland® Wu-La-La Hosta hybrid USPPAF grows best in moist, well-drained soil. Hummingbirds and bees are attracted to the flowers.

Add this perennial to perennial gardens, along fences, patios or walkways and in large containers as a filler plant. Space multiple plants 5 to 6 feet apart on center. It may seem far apart at first, but Shadowland Wu-La-La grows larger than most other hosta varieties.
