The Soft Touch Compact Holly, Ilex Crenata ‘Soft Touch’, is an outstanding evergreen shrub with soft, glossy leaves. Small black fruits attract birds in the late fall, lasting into the winter. Effective in borders, as an accent or to define walkways. Works well as a formal low-growing hedge when planted tightly.
Soft Touch Compact Holly Care
Plant in well-drained soil and water regularly to establish and during periods of extreme heat and drought. Prefers slightly acid soil. Fertilize in spring before new growth appears. Responds well to pruning to maintain desired size and shape.
Soft Touch Compact Holly Spacing
For use in mass plantings or in the shrub border, space 4 to 5 feet apart. For a hedge, plant 2 ½ to 3 feet apart measure from the center of each plant.
